As part of JIC 2026 – the 22nd Annual Scientific Symposium, Marengo CIMS Hospital presents a focused Satellite Symposium on “The Basics Rewired: Infectious Diseases in a New Light”, scheduled on January 10, 2026, from 7:30 PM to 9:30 PM at Hyatt Regency, Ashram Road, Ahmedabad. This academic evening aims to revisit core principles of infectious disease management through contemporary clinical perspectives, emphasizing rational antimicrobial use, precision prescribing, and real-world challenges faced by clinicians today.
The symposium features expert-led sessions and case-based discussions covering critical topics such as appropriate antibiotic administration using PK/PD and TDM concepts, antimicrobial considerations in special populations including children, pregnant women, the elderly, critically ill and obese patients, and evidence-based prescribing of anti-tubercular treatment to bridge existing practice gaps. Obesity School 2026, a satellite symposium of JIC 2026, will focus on 2025’s must-know anti-obesity medicines transforming treatment, bringing together national and international experts to discuss the latest advances in obesity and cardiometabolic care. Scheduled on January 10, 2026, from 7:30 PM to 9:30 PM at Hyatt Regency, Ahmedabad, the program will cover cutting-edge topics including dual incretin therapy, semaglutide-based treat-to-target strategies, obesity-related cardiometabolic complications, NAFLD, bariatric and metabolic surgery updates, and practical guidance on setting up obesity clinics in busy clinical practice. Moderated by Dr. Rikin Shah, the symposium features renowned global faculty such as Prof. Luc Van Gaal (Belgium) and Prof. Luca Busetto (Italy), along with experienced Indian clinicians, offering an evidence-based, practice-oriented learning platform through expert talks, panel discussions, and interactive Q&A sessions.

Workshop on Rigid Bronchoscopy & Cryobiopsy
The Rigid Bronchoscopy & Cryobiopsy Workshop, a focused hands-on academic program at JIC 2026, is designed for pulmonologists, resident doctors, and fellows with an interest in interventional pulmonology. Scheduled on January 11, 2026, from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM at the Auditorium, Marengo CIMS Hospital, Ahmedabad, the workshop offers comprehensive training through expert-led lectures, live demonstrations, and structured hands-on workstations covering rigid bronchoscopy techniques, airway management, foreign body removal, hemoptysis control, airway stenting, and cryo-based lung, pleural, and lymph node biopsies. POLICIES 

  • A submission fee of ₹300 (non-refundable) is applicable for each abstract.
  • The research should not have been presented previously.
  • All abstracts/posters must be submitted in English and in the prescribed format.
  • Complimentary registration will be extended to the presenting author and co-authors of accepted abstracts.
  • The date and time of poster presentation will be communicated upon acceptance.
  • The presenting author must be physically present at the conference; failure to do so may affect acceptance of future submissions.
  • Posters should be displayed 30 minutes before the commencement of the session.
  • The decision of the JIC 2026 Scientific Committee regarding awards will be final and binding.
  • Participants will receive a poster (JPG/PDF) submission link in the confirmation email.
  • Certificates will be issued to the presenting author, listing the names of all co-authors.
